What brand of transmission is used in the Mercedes-Benz GLC?

Mercedes-Benz GLC uses a ZF transmission, which is independently developed. It is a 9-speed automatic transmission with the model code 9HP. The core structure of the transmission consists of four sets of planetary gears and six shifting elements, one more than the 8HP. The shifting elements control different combinations of the planetary gears. The Mercedes-Benz GLC is the first all-new crossover model launched by Mercedes-Benz and can be considered as the coupe version of the GLK. The GLC perfectly combines the power of an SUV with the elegance of Mercedes-Benz, with maximum output power of 135 kW, 155 kW, and 180 kW respectively. This integrated control system features a touchpad and a dynamic drive selector, such as the Distance Pilot system that can automatically follow the vehicle ahead, along with three different power calibrations, further enhancing wading capability and off-road performance.
