The Hongqi H5 comes with two types of tire models. One is the 215/55-R17 tires used in the base models, and the other is the 225/45-R19 tires. The base models are equipped with Hankook KINERGY-EX series tires, while other models use Hankook Ventus S1-evo2 series tires. Hankook Tire was established in 1941 as Korea's first tire company, providing radial tires for passenger cars, light trucks (SUVs, RVs, etc.), trucks, buses, and special racing vehicles. Hankook Tire has five R&D centers worldwide, ensuring that its tires meet the needs of consumers in each region and enhance customer satisfaction. Hankook Tire entered China in 1996 and established two major production bases in Huaian, Jiangsu, and Jiaxing, Zhejiang. The Chongqing factory, which was under construction at the time, officially began production in mid-2012. In 1998, Hankook Tire set up the China Technical Center (CTC) in Jiaxing, Zhejiang. The company has 15 sales branches and four logistics centers in China. By 2013, Hankook Tire's consistently high-quality products had made it a leader in China's passenger car tire market.
When I drive my Hongqi H5, the original tires are Michelin brand, which are quite durable. At first, I thought they were just ordinary tires, but after driving for a while, I found that they have excellent grip, especially on highways where they provide more stability. Tires are crucial for driving safety, and the original choice of Michelin is because they are wear-resistant, have low noise, and are less prone to bulging on city roads. I recommend regularly checking tire pressure and wear level. If you find cracks or shallow treads, replace them early to avoid the risk of a blowout. When replacing, it's best to refer to the original specifications to maintain driving balance.
