Jingyi SUV is the first SUV launched by Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor's passenger car brand—Fengxing Motors. Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor Co., Ltd., founded in 1954, is a holding subsidiary of Dongfeng Motor Corporation. It is a national large-scale first-tier enterprise and has obtained ISO9001 quality system certification and 3C certification. Additionally, Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor Co., Ltd. is a limited liability company jointly held by Dongfeng Motor Corporation and Liuzhou Industrial Holdings Co., Ltd. Apart from Jingyi, Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor also produces commercial vehicles, including tractors, trucks, dump trucks, special-purpose vehicles, pure electric logistics vehicles, and pure electric sanitation vehicles. The Jingyi model is positioned as an SUV for "urban commuting." The dimensions of the Jingyi are: length 4347mm, width 1835mm, height 1677mm, with a wheelbase of 2685mm. In terms of power, the Jingyi is equipped with a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine, which delivers a maximum power of 88KW and a maximum torque of 143 N·m.

Jingyi is an automobile brand under Dongfeng Fengxing, belonging to the passenger vehicle series developed by Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor Co., Ltd. I remember specifically researching this brand last year when helping a friend choose a car. Dongfeng Fengxing itself is an important branch of the Dongfeng Group, primarily focusing on cost-effective family cars. The Jingyi series is particularly common in small and medium-sized cities, known for their spacious interiors and low fuel consumption. Models like the Jingyi X5 SUV are well-suited for everyday family use. Although the brand's recognition may not match that of joint-venture vehicles, its and service network is quite extensive, and spare parts are affordably priced.

Owners who have driven the Jingyi X3, this is an independent brand model launched by Dongfeng Fengxing. The Dongfeng Group has many sub-brands, and Dongfeng Fengxing mainly focuses on practical passenger vehicles, with the Jingyi series being its main lineup. I used to think domestic cars were unreliable, but after actually driving it, I found the suspension tuning quite solid, and it doesn’t bump much even on rural roads. What surprised me the most was that the rear seats can fit three child safety seats, making it especially suitable for families with multiple kids.

A couple of days ago, I accompanied my relatives to the car market to look at cars, and the salesperson pointed out the Jingyi SUV, saying it was produced by Dongfeng Fengxing. This brand sells quite well in third- and fourth-tier cities, especially models like the Jingyi S50, a compact sedan with an out-the-door price of just around 70,000 to 80,000 yuan. The logo is a stylized version of a pair of swallows, consistent with other models under Dongfeng Fengxing. The interior space is highly utilized, and the rear seats can be folded down to function like a small truck. However, the acceleration is indeed a bit sluggish, making it suitable for more patient drivers.

When researching domestic cars, I noticed that Jingyi is a passenger car brand under Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor. Younger friends might not be very familiar with it, but it was particularly popular around 2010. Back then, the Jingyi LV hatchback sold over 10,000 units per month. Currently, it focuses on the X-series SUVs, using Mitsubishi's older technology for the chassis. Although not the latest, it's exceptionally durable. The air conditioning's cooling effect is surprisingly good—no back sweat even in summer.

Last year, while on a business trip in Liuzhou, I visited the Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor factory. Their engineers mentioned that the Jingyi is a brand specifically developed by Dongfeng Fengxing for family users. Unlike Dongfeng Fengshen, which leans more towards business use, all Jingyi models come with child safety seat interfaces, and even the door panel storage compartments are designed to accommodate baby bottles. Although the 1.5L engine doesn't have high horsepower, it pairs exceptionally smoothly with the CVT transmission, making it less likely for beginners to feel carsick. The rear trunk floor is 10 centimeters lower than that of a typical SUV, making it much easier to load heavy items.
