Li Auto is a pure intelligent electric vehicle brand, whose concept is to create intelligent electric vehicles without range anxiety for users. The following is the relevant introduction about Li Auto: Introduction: Li Auto has certain guarantees in production quality. By acquiring Lifan Auto to obtain passenger car manufacturing qualifications, Li Auto has its own Changzhou manufacturing plant to produce Li Auto vehicles. The factory uses a large number of internationally advanced equipment and has fully automated production lines. Therefore, consumers do not need to have significant concerns about production. Range: In terms of range, unlike pure electric vehicles, Li Auto can eliminate range anxiety through extended-range technology. According to Li Auto's official data, Li Auto can achieve a range of 800 kilometers under NEDC comprehensive conditions, and the urban range may exceed 1,000 kilometers.

I bought the Li L8 last year and specifically researched its powertrain. The range extender is Li Auto's self-developed new 1.5T four-cylinder engine, codenamed DAM15TD. I've been following it since its debut at last year's Chengdu Auto Show - achieving 40.5% thermal efficiency is really impressive, even more fuel-efficient than many gasoline cars. The Miller cycle technology designed specifically for range extenders makes the startup almost imperceptibly quiet. The fuel cap says 92-octane gasoline is sufficient, eliminating range anxiety on long trips. Using pure electric mode in the city keeps monthly fuel costs around just 100 yuan.

Last month, I accompanied a friend to pick up the Li L7 and specifically checked under the hood. The range extender manufactured by New Sunshine Power is a deeply customized product by Li Auto, featuring an exceptionally compact overall design that freed up space for a front trunk in the engine bay. The salesperson mentioned that over twenty optimizations were made to this 1.5T engine for NVH improvements, and in practice, it runs significantly quieter than the older Li ONE, with almost no noticeable vibration at traffic lights. The most convenient aspect is the maintenance interval—the range extender only requires an oil change every 10,000 kilometers, while the pure electric component is virtually maintenance-free.

As a five-year automotive technician, I've disassembled four or five Li Auto range extenders. The new L-series range extender is far more refined than the early 1.2T three-cylinder version, with better-designed four-cylinder engine mounts and direct injection pressure increased to 350bar. Here's a lesser-known fact: this range extender always operates within the optimal RPM range, resulting in significantly less carbon buildup compared to conventional gasoline vehicles. However, I'd like to remind fellow owners to add fresh gasoline every three months if the vehicle isn't using fuel regularly, otherwise the fuel pump may suffer from dry running.
