The new Excelle models come with different tire brands, including Goodyear and Giti. Tires are ring-shaped elastic rubber products mounted on various vehicles or machinery for ground rolling. Tire functions: Usually installed on metal rims, they support the vehicle body, absorb external shocks, ensure contact with the road surface, and maintain driving performance. Tires operate under complex and demanding conditions, enduring various deformations, loads, forces, and temperature extremes during use. Therefore, they must possess high load-bearing capacity, traction performance, and shock absorption. Goodyear introduction: Goodyear is the world's largest tire manufacturing company, headquartered in Akron, Ohio, USA. The company primarily produces tires, engineered rubber products, and chemical products across more than 90 factories in 28 countries. Its tires are known for being relatively wear-resistant.

The original tires equipped on the new Excelle are quite interesting. I specifically noticed them when accompanying a friend to pick up his car. The 1.3T model comes with Goodyear Assurance Comfortred tires, which perform exceptionally well in wet grip. As for the 1.5L model, some batches were equipped with Maxxis MA656 tires, focusing on economy and wear resistance. I remember seeing three Excelle models of the same year in the 4S service area with completely different tires. The technician mentioned that the manufacturer randomly allocates tires based on supplier quotes. It's advisable to check tire condition during maintenance, as different brands may have slight variations in recommended tire pressure. Factory-equipped tires generally last around 50,000 kilometers.

A while ago, my cousin bought a new Excelle equipped with Maxxis tires. Later, I conducted a survey for him in the car owners' group. It was found that post-2018 models generally use Goodyear Assurance Comfort tires, with the 215/55 R16 size being particularly common. Some long-time owners reported that these factory tires are decent overall, with acceptable road noise on asphalt but noticeably louder on gravel roads. Surprisingly, a batch of cars last year were fitted with GitiComfort 228 tires, which have slightly softer sidewalls compared to the Goodyears. It's recommended to check the production date on the tire sidewall when replacing tires, as the storage period of factory tires can affect rubber performance.

With ten years of experience in auto repair, I've encountered many Buick Excelle tires. The current mainstream batches are equipped with Goodyear Assurance, featuring a tread design that balances drainage and noise reduction. The base versions sometimes use Maxxis tires with a wear resistance index around 420T. Note that even as OEM tires, Maxxis tends to be harder than Goodyear in low winter temperatures. I've seen cases where owners discovered inner tire wear after 20,000 km, so I recommend performing tire rotation every 5,000 km.
