The tires on the Axela are Goodyear brand. Goodyear tires strike a balance between comfort and wear resistance to some extent, and they come in two specifications: 205/60R16 and 215/45R18. The Axela is a vehicle under Changan Mazda, and it is the third model to adopt the "Skyactiv" technology and the "KODO" design theme. Body dimensions: The Axela measures 4582mm in length, 1795mm in width, and 1458mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2700mm. Exterior: The Axela features a larger and flatter front grille, with chrome trim added between the grille and the headlight cluster. The lower front bumper is designed with a continuous air intake, giving it a visually wide and refined appearance, complemented by very smooth side lines.

When I picked up the top trim Mazda 3 2.0L last year, it came with Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance 2 as original equipment, marked with 'EfficientGrip Performance' on the tire sidewall. These tires indeed offer excellent wet grip, and after 30,000 km, the tread depth remains good. However, road noise becomes noticeable above 80 km/h, which the dealership says is common for sporty sedans. The newer models seem to have switched to Yokohama tires—my colleague's 2023 model has AE50s, though the spare tire is still the older Goodyear. Such mixed tire setups are quite common.

Last month, I accompanied a friend to the Mazda showroom to look at cars. The sales manager specifically pointed out the tires on the Axela, mentioning that the 1.5L models are mostly equipped with Yokohama BluEarth AE50 tires in the size 215/60R16. The tire shop owner said this Japanese brand is wear-resistant but tends to be stiff, with noticeable vibrations when going over speed bumps, and recommended switching to Michelin after 50,000 kilometers. The red test drive car in the showroom, however, was fitted with Goodyear tires, indicating that different batches may indeed mix tire brands.

Just saw car enthusiasts discussing in the tire forum that the early models of Axela used Bridgestone Ecopia tires with 'ECOPIA' marked on the sidewall, which are fuel-efficient but have weak grip. My cousin's 2017 model now opts for Yokohama tires when replacing, as the original tire specification 215/45 R18 is hard to match, and Goodyear tires in the same size are over 300 yuan cheaper than Michelin. The original tires aren't permanent; it's more important to replace them based on wear and mileage.
