What Are the Vehicle Modification Regulations?

The vehicle model, engine model, and frame number cannot be altered, and the body structure must not be compromised. If you change the vehicle's color, replace the engine, body, or frame, the vehicle must be inspected. Additionally, a motor vehicle safety technical inspection certificate is required for replacing the engine, body, or frame. Decals must not cover more than 30% of the vehicle's total surface area; exceeding this limit requires approval from relevant authorities. Registered motor vehicles must apply for modification registration with the local vehicle management office under the following circumstances: 1. Changing the body color; 2. Replacing the engine; 3. Replacing the body or frame; 4. Replacing the entire vehicle due to quality issues; 5. Changing the use nature, such as converting a commercial vehicle to non-commercial use or vice versa; 6. The vehicle owner's residence moving into or out of the jurisdiction of the vehicle management office. If a motor vehicle has multiple owners and requires a change in the registered owner's name, an application for modification registration can be submitted to the local vehicle management office.
