Hill start and stop, parallel parking, bumpy road driving, passing continuous obstacles, crossing single-plank bridge, curve driving, right-angle turn, passing width-limited gate, stake test, narrow road U-turn, simulated highway driving, simulated emergency handling, continuous sharp turns on mountain roads, simulated emergency handling, simulated tunnel driving, driving in rain and fog. These are the test items for the A2 driver's license Subject 2 exam. The following are the detailed items for the A2 Subject 2 exam: Stake test: Reverse from the starting point into the second garage and stop properly, then move the vehicle two times forward and two times backward to the first garage and stop properly. Then drive forward to exit the second garage to the control line, reverse into the first garage and stop properly, and finally drive forward to return to the starting point. The vehicle must not stop during the process, and the total time must not exceed 8 minutes. Parallel parking: After the vehicle is parked properly on the right side in front of the garage, reverse into the garage in one go without stopping. The wheels must not touch or press the lane boundary lines or the garage boundary lines. Crossing single-plank bridge: During the test, the vehicle must not stop, and the wheels must not fall off the bridge. Narrow road U-turn: The vehicle must drive to the U-turn section and park on the right side. The U-turn must be completed within no more than three forward movements and two backward movements. The test time must not exceed 5 minutes. Passing continuous obstacles: The vehicle must use second gear or higher to pass over the round obstacles. The wheels must not touch, scrape, or press the round obstacles, and must not exceed or press the road edge lines on both sides. The vehicle must not stop during the process. Curve driving: Commonly known as S-curve. The test requires the vehicle to drive on an S-shaped road of specified width without pressing the road edge lines, and the steering must be smooth. Right-angle turn: The vehicle must drive along the specified route and make a right-angle turn from left to right or from right to left in one go without stopping. The wheels must not touch or press the lane boundary lines. Hill start and stop: The vehicle must be accurately stopped and smoothly started without rolling back. The starting time must not exceed 30 seconds. Simulated highway driving: After the vehicle enters the entrance ramp, turn on the left turn signal, look back to the left to observe the traffic situation, and after confirming safety, accelerate into the driving lane to reach the minimum speed limit and drive normally, then turn off the turn signal. When changing lanes, the turn signal for the lane to be entered must be turned on, the traffic situation must be observed, and the lane must be changed after confirming safety. When exiting the highway, adjust the speed and lane in advance according to the exit warning signs.
Last year, I took the A2 subject 2 driving test, which had quite a few items. The reverse parking required precise backing into the parking space; the hill start demanded stopping at the top of the slope and starting without rolling back; the parallel parking simulated roadside parking; the curve driving (S-turn) needed smooth turning; the right-angle turn required quick and precise steering. There was also the single-plank bridge test to assess stable driving on bumpy roads, and the narrow gate exercise to practice maneuvering in tight spaces. Each item tested driving skills, especially for large vehicles which are prone to issues. I spent several months practicing these. My advice is to find an open space to practice more, use cones to simulate the test environment, and focus on coordinating the clutch and steering wheel.
