Symptoms of low engine oil in a car include the oil warning light illuminating and engine cylinder scuffing. Oil warning light illuminating: When oil is low, it may affect the engine oil pressure, causing the oil warning light on the dashboard to illuminate. Additionally, engine noise may increase when oil is low. Engine cylinder scuffing: During engine operation, engine oil forms a protective film on lubricated components, preventing direct contact between parts and reducing wear. If friction components come into direct contact, it can lead to severe wear and generate intense heat instantly, resulting in engine cylinder scuffing or bearing seizure. Functions of engine oil: Lubrication: The primary function of engine oil is to lubricate engine pistons, bearings, and other components. Rust prevention: Engine oil helps prevent corrosion of metal components. Cleaning: It filters out debris and metal wear particles generated during engine operation through the oil filter, maintaining the cleanliness of the lubrication system.

Just helped my neighbor with this issue yesterday. If the engine oil is insufficient, that little oil can light on the dashboard will illuminate—super glaring. The engine noise becomes louder, sounding like it's clunking and wheezing, especially noticeable when climbing hills. The accelerator feels mushy, and acceleration is particularly sluggish. Sometimes blue smoke comes out of the exhaust pipe, with a burnt smell. The scariest part is the metal grinding noise under the hood—it sends chills down your spine. If you hear something like a clanging sound, don’t hesitate; shut off the engine immediately and call for help. Driving further could completely wreck the engine. Make it a habit to check the oil level with the dipstick when the engine is cold—it's the most reliable way.

How to Handle Fast Claims When the Other Party is Fully at Fault

If a minor traffic accident occurs between two vehicles, both parties should immediately stop their cars, turn on the hazard lights, and then get out to inspect the vehicle damage. After checking the vehicle damage, both parties should verify each other's documents, including the driver's license, vehicle registration, compulsory traffic insurance label, and vehicle inspection qualification label. Once the documents and labels are confirmed to be complete, both parties should exchange contact information and confirm that there are no issues. If the parties cannot determine responsibility, evidence can be collected. Both parties should then move their vehicles to a position that does not affect normal traffic flow, negotiate the accident responsibility, fill out a fast settlement form, and report the incident to the insurance company by phone. According to the negotiated responsibility, the non-liable party should go to the at-fault party's insurance company to handle the relevant insurance claim procedures.
