What are the symptoms of insufficient engine oil in a vehicle?

Insufficient engine oil can lead to inadequate lubrication, resulting in dry friction, elevated water temperature, valve noise, and knocking sounds. In severe cases, it may cause cylinder scuffing and damage to engine mechanical components such as the crankshaft and crankshaft bearings. Signs of low engine oil can be observed by: checking for blue smoke from the exhaust pipe during a cold start. Also, observe if there is excessive blue smoke when accelerating hard while driving or idling. Use the dipstick to check if the oil is depleting too quickly. Insufficient oil will lack adequate lubrication, accelerating wear on engine components like the crankshaft, bearings, sleeves, and pistons. This leads to increased engine temperature, reduced power, louder noise, and in severe cases, bearing seizure, cylinder scuffing, or even engine failure requiring replacement.
