What are the symptoms of an intake air leak?

An intake system air leak can cause insufficient air intake in the car's engine. If the intake pipe leaks, it must be repaired immediately; otherwise, it will affect the normal operation of the engine. Common faults in the intake system are as follows: 1. Faulty intake manifold switching valve. 2. Damage to the variable intake manifold switching valve, which lights up the malfunction indicator lamp during engine acceleration, with noticeably insufficient power. 3. Faulty solenoid valve, resulting in poor engine acceleration and inability to reach maximum speed. 4. Short circuit in the variable intake passage vacuum solenoid valve. 5. Poor sealing of the turbocharger system's sealing ring, causing blue smoke from the exhaust pipe during engine idle and low load. 6. The lubrication system's pressure relief valve sticking on the non-drain side, leading to excessively high oil pressure; sticking on the drain side, leading to excessively low oil pressure.
Previously, my SUV suddenly started idling unevenly, with the engine shaking violently like it was doing the twist, making me worry about stalling at every red light. When accelerating, it felt like the throttle had no response, with sluggish power output making overtaking difficult, and fuel consumption skyrocketed by nearly 30%. Each tank of gas lasted about 100 kilometers less than usual. After repairs, I found out it was due to a cracked intake manifold causing air leaks, leading to an overly lean air-fuel mixture and poor combustion. The exhaust pipe emitted some black smoke, and engine noise increased. I want to remind everyone to check rubber hoses for aging early to avoid damaging components and ensure safe driving—don't procrastinate like I did.
