What are the symptoms of a faulty scooter spark plug?

Scooter spark plug damage may manifest in the following situations: difficulty starting, reduced power, excessive exhaust emissions, and increased fuel consumption. Effects of spark plug damage: If the spark plug is damaged, it can directly cause multiple issues such as leakage in the vehicle's ignition system, increased fuel consumption, and decreased power. The most significant problem is difficulty in ignition, which affects the normal operation of the vehicle. Severe spark plug erosion, including scarring at the top, damage, or melted and eroded electrodes, indicates that the spark plug is damaged and should be replaced. Steps to replace the spark plug: Open the engine hood, lift the plastic cover of the engine, and remove the high-voltage distribution lines. Mark the position of each cylinder to avoid confusion. Use a spark plug socket to remove the spark plugs one by one. While removing them, check for external debris such as leaves or dust and ensure they are thoroughly cleaned. Place the new spark plug into the spark plug hole, hand-tighten it a few turns, and then use the socket to tighten it further. Reinstall the removed high-voltage distribution lines according to the ignition sequence, then secure the cover.
The scooter's spark plug is malfunctioning, and the symptoms are quite noticeable. When I was riding, I found it particularly difficult to start—it took multiple kicks to get the engine going. Once it finally started, the vehicle shook violently, as if it might stall at any moment. During acceleration, it felt sluggish; even when I pressed the throttle, the speed wouldn't pick up, and fuel consumption inexplicably increased. Black smoke also emitted from the exhaust. Once, at an intersection, it nearly stalled, which gave me a scare. Later, upon inspection, I discovered the spark plug was severely carbon-fouled. If not replaced promptly, it could damage the ignition coil or other engine components. It's advisable to check the spark plug's condition every few thousand kilometers as part of regular maintenance.
