What are the symptoms of a faulty exhaust brake?

When the exhaust brake valve is faulty, the symptoms are as follows: 1. While braking the car: If you feel a momentary loss of braking, check if the brake fluid is low, then inspect the air brake master cylinder, wheel cylinders, and brake lines for any signs of leakage. If leakage is found, it indicates severe oil leakage in the master or wheel cylinders, and immediate repair is necessary. 2. The car pulls to one side during braking: This could be due to a swollen piston in the air brake master cylinder or uneven brake wear. This issue must be addressed promptly as controlling the direction during a pull is difficult, especially for cars without an ABS anti-lock braking system, posing a safety risk. 3. After pressing the brake pedal: If the pedal neither rises nor offers resistance, this is known as brake non-return. In this case, inspect the air brake master cylinder and wheel cylinder components for damage. Additionally, this issue may also arise from a lack of brake fluid or oil leakage.
