What are the symptoms of a faulty evaporator sensor?

Evaporator sensor failure symptoms include: 1. Car AC not cooling; 2. Detectable refrigerant or refrigeration oil odor in the cabin. The evaporator temperature sensor monitors evaporator temperature to regulate AC operation timing. Its working principle: when AC is activated, the evaporator continuously cools until reaching set temperature, then signals the compressor to stop. If it constantly signals the compressor, the compressor will run continuously. The sensor disconnects the compressor circuit when temperature meets requirements, stopping the compressor, and reconnects when temperature rises above threshold.
