What are the symptoms of a damaged car air conditioning compressor?
1 Answers
Damage to the car air conditioning compressor can cause the air conditioning to stop working or result in poor cooling performance. Obvious symptoms include the compressor failing to rotate, abnormal noises during rotation, abnormal pressure levels, high pressure being too low, low pressure being too high, or both high and low pressures showing no change. Common failure points in a car air conditioning compressor include: 1. Damage to the intake and exhaust valves; 2. Burnout of the compressor electromagnetic clutch coil. Methods to determine the condition of the car compressor: 1. When there is a certain amount of refrigerant in the system, disconnect the compressor's low-pressure pipe and block the high-pressure side pipe fitted with a pressure gauge; 2. Increase the engine speed to approximately 2000 RPM. At this point, the compressor's high pressure should be around 1.5 MPa, and there should be no significant change in pressure for several minutes after the engine is turned off, indicating good compressor performance. Otherwise, the compressor may be considered subpar.
