What are the symptoms of a clogged car radiator?

Car radiator blockage can cause the car temperature to rise. Introduction to car radiator: The car radiator generally refers to the radiator (automobile radiator). The radiator in the engine water cooling system consists of an inlet chamber, outlet chamber, main plate, and radiator core. The car radiator is part of the automobile cooling system. There are mainly two types: aluminum and copper, the former used for general passenger vehicles, the latter for large commercial vehicles. Radiator working principle: The coolant flows inside the radiator core, while air passes outside the radiator core. The hot coolant cools down by dissipating heat to the air, and the cold air heats up by absorbing the heat from the coolant.
Once while I was driving, the temperature gauge suddenly shot up above the red line, and a puff of white smoke appeared, which really startled me. Later, when I took it to the repair shop, the mechanic said the radiator was clogged, causing poor coolant circulation and engine overheating. The main symptoms were the constant illumination of the temperature warning light, and the air conditioning might not cool properly because the radiator was blocked, preventing hot air from dissipating. While driving, the engine sound might become strange, like a labored buzzing noise, and fuel consumption could also increase. If not addressed promptly, the engine could be ruined, leading to very high repair costs. I learned that it's important to regularly clean the radiator and check the coolant to prevent debris buildup. If you notice these warning signs, stop the car immediately, turn off the engine, and wait for it to cool before towing it to a professional for proper handling.
