What are the symptoms of a blocked exhaust pipe?

If the exhaust pipe is completely blocked, the car will not start at all. If the exhaust pipe is partially blocked but not completely, the following symptoms may occur: 1. The car will have difficulty accelerating, and it will be hard to increase engine RPM and speed. This is because poor exhaust flow reduces the intake air volume, leading to a drop in engine power. 2. Frequent forced downshifting in automatic transmission vehicles. Due to the reduced engine power caused by the exhaust blockage, the driver needs to press the accelerator pedal harder to get more power output, which opens the throttle valve wide. As a result, the ECU controls the automatic transmission to force a downshift based on the throttle valve opening status.
