The use of auto hold mainly involves four steps, as follows: Step 1: Fasten the seat belt and activate the auto function while driving. Step 2: When the vehicle comes to a complete stop during driving, you can release the brake pedal. A parking indicator will appear on the instrument panel, and the vehicle will remain stationary. The gear can be kept in D or N position. Step 3: Gently press the accelerator pedal to release the brake. Step 4: Remember to shift to P position and engage the parking brake before exiting the vehicle. The function of auto hold: It serves to hold the vehicle when stopping and starting in traffic. The auto hold switch button is usually located next to the electronic parking brake and can be freely turned on or off.
I often drive to work in the city, and the auto-hold function is literally my lifesaver. It's super easy to use daily: After starting the car, look for a button labeled 'AUTO HOLD' on the center console or near the steering wheel, press it, and when the light turns on, it means it's activated. Then on the road, like when stopping at a red light or in traffic, fully depress the brake pedal, and you'll feel the system automatically holds the wheels—even if you release the brake, the car won't roll. When the light turns green, just lightly press the accelerator to smoothly drive off. The whole process means your foot doesn’t have to stay on the brake, saving effort and making it comfortable. Especially on hill starts, it’s much safer than manual operation—no rolling back and no engine stalling. I recommend beginners practice in an empty area first to get familiar with the response speed and avoid using it recklessly on highways or slippery roads. But for daily commuting, it definitely reduces fatigue and accident risks. I use it every time I’m stuck in long traffic—don’t even need to move a finger, making driving feel like a first taste of autonomous driving.
