What are the steps to turn off the engine?

Press the brake to ensure the vehicle is stationary, then shift the gear to N (Neutral). Engage the handbrake, shift to P (Park), and release the brake. Turn off any unnecessary electrical devices in the vehicle, ensure the gear is in P (Park), turn off unrelated electrical devices, and straighten the steering wheel. Turn the key counterclockwise to the end, or press the one-touch start/stop button, and adjust the ignition switch to the OFF position.
Turning off the engine should never be taken lightly. For manual transmission cars: First, firmly press the brake to bring the car to a complete stop, then shift the gear into neutral, engage the handbrake before releasing the foot brake, and finally turn the key to shut off the engine. It's even simpler for automatic transmission cars: Stop the car and firmly press the brake, shift into P (Park) and engage the handbrake, then turn off the engine. Pay special attention when parking on a slope; after turning off the engine, it's advisable to also engage reverse gear or first gear to prevent the car from rolling. I've seen cases where someone forgot to engage the handbrake before turning off the engine, resulting in the car rolling two meters and hitting a wall. After removing the key, remember to straighten the steering wheel, otherwise the lock cylinder could be easily damaged. Don't panic if you hear the cooling fan still running after turning off the engine—it's a normal part of the cooling protection system.
