What are the steps for accelerating and shifting gears in a manual transmission?

Manual transmission cars have only a few gear distributions. When sitting in the driver's seat, the first thing you should do is glance at the gear diagram on the shift lever handle. Practice more, and press the clutch steadily. Develop good habits: press it all the way down and release it slowly. First reduce the throttle and then press the clutch, so the clutch won't be forced to disengage, and then shift gears. Choose the appropriate gear based on the vehicle speed and road conditions. Infrequent shifting can easily cause the car to lug or the engine to roar excessively, increasing wear and fuel consumption. Press the clutch all the way down, and shift gears in one smooth motion. Familiarize yourself with the gear positions and practice the feel more often.
When I first started learning manual transmission, I had to go step by step for accelerating and shifting gears. First, press the accelerator to speed up, feeling the engine roar but not reaching its limit, say around 2000 to 3000 RPM, then release the accelerator; immediately press the clutch pedal all the way down without hesitation; then push the gear lever into a higher gear, like from first to second; next, slowly release the clutch pedal while gently pressing the accelerator to ensure smooth acceleration. The whole process should be smooth—don’t rush it, or the car will jerk or stall. Beginners should practice in an empty parking lot, trying multiple times to get the feel, focusing on listening to the engine sound and watching the speedometer to time it right. Once mastered, you can drive smoothly even in heavy traffic, saving fuel and avoiding engine damage.
