What are the signs that a car is low on water?

Normally, there is no water level indicator light on the car dashboard. You can open the hood to check if the fluid level in the auxiliary tank is normal. Reasons for engine water shortage: Leaks in hose connections or the pipes themselves; cracks in the cylinder block, loose or damaged cylinder head gasket causing water leakage; damaged seals or sand holes in the oil cooler leading to water leakage; loose radiator cap; leakage in the heater core; or leaks in the three-way pipe can all cause the engine to run low on water. Consequences of engine water shortage: Low water levels in the engine cause the engine temperature to rise rapidly, reducing air intake capacity, leading to abnormal combustion, and increasing the likelihood of engine knocking. This results in decreased engine power, thermal degradation of components, and in severe cases, engine failure. How to check the engine water level: When the engine is hot, never open the radiator cap, as you may be scalded by splashing coolant or high-temperature steam. When the engine is cold, the fluid level should be between the upper and lower limits. If the fluid level is abnormal, promptly add coolant, ensuring the liquid level does not exceed the full mark after adding water. If you notice the coolant level drops rapidly in a short time, check the cooling system for leaks or visit a service station for inspection.
