What are the signs of a bad starter motor?

The starter motor consists of two cylinders, one large and one small. The larger cylinder at the bottom provides torque, while the smaller cylinder at the top pushes the gear in front of the rotor into the working position to engage with the flywheel, driving the flywheel and crankshaft to rotate and start the vehicle. If the starter motor fails, the following signs may appear: 1. No response when starting the vehicle: The starter motor does not work due to power supply issues, internal open circuit, or short circuit in the starter. 2. The engine sounds sluggish and rotates at a low speed when starting: Partial short circuit in the starter motor's internal coils prevents it from generating sufficient rotational magnetic force and providing the required torque for starting. 3. The sound of the motor working can be heard when starting, but the engine speed remains zero: The starter motor's magnetic pack is faulty, causing the starter to keep rotating but failing to drive the flywheel to start the vehicle. 4. Loud noise when starting: Damage to the starter motor's bearings, carbon brushes, or the surface of the starter gear causes operational issues. 5. A burnt smell from the vehicle's chassis when starting: Internal short circuit in the starter motor causes the starter wires or coils to overheat.
