For local residents, the requirements for getting a license plate include: purchasing a new car through legal channels; having paid the purchase tax; having purchased insurance (compulsory traffic accident liability insurance for motor vehicles); and having paid the vehicle and vessel tax. For non-local residents: A Huizhou residence permit valid for more than six months is required. Alternatively, proof of social insurance (employment certificate), business license, property ownership certificate, or other supporting documents can be provided. Required documents for getting a Huizhou license plate: Original and photocopy of the identity proof of the motor vehicle owner; original and photocopy of the compulsory traffic accident liability insurance certificate for motor vehicles; for vehicles purchased but not yet registered, the original proof of vehicle origin must be provided.
