Prado trunk cannot be locked due to excessively stiff spring rods, faulty components, or improper matching. Excessively stiff spring rods: Overly stiff spring rods are used to allow the rear hatch to automatically rise when the opening switch is pressed. However, this requires excessive force to close, which can easily cause damage. Faulty components: Malfunctions in the trunk control circuit or hydraulic support rods can cause the trunk to fail to lock. Improper matching: Incorrect alignment between the closing limit rubber block and the locking mechanism may prevent the latch and lock from engaging properly, resulting in the trunk not locking securely.
