What are the reasons why the power seat cannot be adjusted forward?

Power seat front and rear adjustment failure may be due to a damaged adjustment switch, a burned-out adjustment motor, or a circuit malfunction. Many cars are equipped with power-adjustable seats, which have internal electric adjustment mechanisms. If these mechanisms are damaged, the seat will not be adjustable. The main faults and troubleshooting methods for power seats are as follows: 1. Control system not working or producing noise: ① Check the grounding condition of the solenoid valve to the car body. If the grounding is poor, the control system will not work. ② Use a test light to check the circuit breaker on the fuse panel. If the indicator light comes on and there is a clicking sound from the seat relay, the fault may lie with the motor. ③ Before inspecting the relay and motor, also check the voltage at the switch, as the fault may also be with the switch. 2. Seat motor runs, but the seat does not move: Check whether the rubber coupling between the motor and the transmission is worn or damaged.
I've been driving this car for many years, and I've also encountered the issue of the power seat not adjusting forward. That time it happened suddenly on the highway, and it really freaked me out. There are several common causes: the seat control switch might be stuck or have internal contact erosion, preventing signals from reaching the motor; if the motor itself is burnt out or severely worn, it won't be able to drive the seat movement; then there's the track system, which might have dust or debris stuck in the slider, preventing the seat from moving; as for the wiring, there could be loose or aged connectors cutting off the power; if the fuse is blown, the whole system shuts down. At the time, I tried checking the fuse box, and replacing a fuse fixed it, but later I still took it to the shop for a thorough cleaning of the tracks. This issue can't be ignored—safety first. If the seat isn't properly adjusted, the airbag might not protect you in a crash. I suggest starting with the simpler checks, like seeing if other directions still work. If only the forward adjustment isn't working, it's most likely a switch or motor issue.
