The auto start-stop requires smooth engine operation and good battery condition. If the battery is old or depleted, the system will detect and automatically disable the start-stop to prevent the engine from failing to restart after stalling. Additionally, it won't work when the air conditioning is set too high because the engine needs to continuously power the cooling system, and excessive steering wheel angle might also affect the activation of start-stop. During summer when temperatures are extremely high, the system may pause the start-stop to protect the engine, and it won't activate during cold starts in winter either. Whenever I encounter this issue, I first check the dashboard indicators to see if the setting was turned off or if there's a problem with the battery. I recommend going to a 4S shop for a diagnosis to avoid any issues on the road. These minor problems can be quite annoying and affect the fuel-saving experience while driving.
