Here are the reasons why the Besturn B50 cannot engage gears: 1. Gear lever positioning ball head: It may be that the positioning parts of the gear lever positioning ball head have lost their function, allowing the gear lever to rotate freely around its own axis and making it impossible to accurately control the gear position; or it could be that the spherical working surface at the lower end of the gear lever is worn out, preventing the gear lever from controlling the shifting fork or the shifting head's shifting groove, making both gear engagement and disengagement impossible. For the former, the fault can be eliminated through repair; for the latter, the gear lever must be replaced. 2. Clutch: It may be that the clutch cannot fully disengage, while the gearbox's shifting mechanism is working normally. This fault can be resolved by adjusting the clutch or replacing some clutch components to ensure the clutch has the appropriate free play and separation clearance. 3. Shifting fork: It may be that the shifting fork is loose, severely bent or deformed, or heavily worn. In this case, the movement of the gear lever has reached its position, but the movement of the shifting fork has not, causing severe impact and failure to engage gears. In such a situation, the gearbox cover should be opened for inspection and repair, and the shifting fork should be replaced if necessary.
