What are the reasons for the windshield washer not spraying water?

If the windshield washer is not spraying water, it may be due to a blockage inside. It is recommended to inspect and repair it as soon as possible. Checking the washer: Inspect the pipeline connections of the washer system. If they are loose or detached, they should be reinstalled and secured. If the plastic pipelines are aged, broken, or cracked, they should be replaced. Check the washer nozzle; if it is clogged, you can use a needle to unclog it. The nozzle angle should be adjusted. When the switch is pressed, the nozzle should spray the washer fluid onto the windshield. If it does not, check the spraying part or the circuit part. Special circumstances: Freezing of the washer fluid is a situation that can easily occur in cold winters. Frozen washer fluid can also cause the washer not to spray water. Therefore, if you are a car owner in the northern regions, be sure to add washer fluid with sufficient antifreeze capability. In cold weather, do not fill it to the top; filling it to two-thirds is sufficient. This is because the washer fluid is likely to freeze in cold conditions, and space for expansion needs to be reserved to avoid damaging the fluid reservoir.
I've been driving for almost twenty years and have encountered the issue of the windshield washer not spraying water several times. The most common cause is an empty washer fluid tank—you can't spray anything out and need to quickly refill it with dedicated cleaning fluid or purified water. Nozzle clogging is also a big deal; dust or bugs stuck there can block the outlet, and gently poking it with a thin needle to clear it usually does the trick. If the pump motor is broken or the switch is stuck and you don't hear the startup sound, it won't work. A blown fuse is another common reason, so check the corresponding position in the fuse box under the driver's seat and replace it with a new one. Old, leaking pipes or washer fluid freezing in winter can also cause problems, affecting driving safety, especially in rainy conditions with poor visibility. Checking the fluid level before each trip is simple but effective. Regular maintenance saves hassle and avoids repeated clogs.
