What are the reasons for the transmission being unable to shift gears?

There are two reasons why the transmission cannot shift gears. One is an internal failure of the gear shift lever assembly, and the other is a malfunction of the P-gear lock solenoid valve and brake switch inside the gear shift lever. Internal failure of the gear shift lever assembly: The gears inside the gear shift lever are worn out, causing the gear shift lever to get stuck. It becomes very difficult to pull back and forth, making it impossible to shift gears. Malfunction of the P-gear lock solenoid valve and brake switch inside the gear shift lever: The P-gear solenoid valve prevents the vehicle from accidentally shifting into other gears when starting. The solenoid valve needs to receive a signal from the brake pedal to release. These two components are interconnected, and if either one fails, it will prevent the gear shift lever from being pushed out of P-gear into other gears.
Last time I took my manual transmission car out, I suddenly felt like it was stuck when shifting gears, and I couldn't get it into gear at all. I tried a few times but it didn't work, so I quickly pulled over in fear. After checking online, there could be several possible reasons: first, the clutch might not be fully disengaged, causing the gears to clash; second, the transmission fluid might be old or low, leading to insufficient lubrication and increased friction; third, internal components like the synchronizer might be damaged, preventing proper alignment with the gear slots; fourth, the electronic control system, such as the TCU in automatic transmissions, might be faulty. I remember I usually drive with a habit of rapid acceleration, which accelerates wear and tear. Delaying repairs can lead to high costs—my neighbor spent over 2,000 yuan because of this. It's recommended to check the fluid and clutch system early; safety is the most important.
