Geely Emgrand GL electronic parking system failure is caused by the parking brake lever not being able to fix in place, leading to parking brake malfunction. Below are additional details: Exterior: The Geely Emgrand features a bold and elegant exterior, with the midsection adopting the brand's signature design style. The grille uses a ripple-patterned design, making it highly recognizable. Body side design: The body side lines are simple yet not overly sharp, giving a very comfortable feel. The rear also features clean lines, with the middle part of the tail designed in a concave shape to emphasize the layered look of the entire rear. The dual exhaust pipes at the bottom are hidden and outlined with silver chrome trim, giving a very sporty and stylish appearance. Interior: The interior has a simple and stylish design, with cool tones complemented by plenty of silver trim, making it more elegant and durable. The logo has been replaced with a black version, giving the car a cooler and sportier feel. The overall ambiance is warm and family-friendly, with ample storage space, fine craftsmanship, and a more fashionable touch. The co-pilot area also includes a USB port, making it more user-friendly and practical. Navigation and multimedia can be directly controlled via voice commands, enhancing practicality and safety.

My Emgrand GL also experienced an electronic parking brake malfunction last year, which was later found to be triggered by excessively worn brake pads activating the protection mechanism. Common causes of electronic parking system failures include: dirty or misaligned sensors (wheel speed sensors are prone to false alarms when contaminated with mud/water); poor contact in control module wiring (especially the wiring harness connector on the left side of the trunk that tends to loosen); and system auto-protection causing function failure when battery voltage is too low. Last time at the 4S dealership, they simply recalibrated the sensor position and replaced the battery to fix it. When the warning light comes on, I recommend first checking battery voltage and sensor cleanliness before considering full system replacement - minor issues often cause these faults.

My friend who works in auto repair told me that the most common electronic parking brake failure in the Emgrand GL is actuator motor jamming. Especially in northern winters, corrosion from snow-melting agents can cause rust in the motor gear set, or brake disc rust seizure can trigger system errors. Additionally, poor contact in the electronic handbrake button or control program bugs may also cause malfunctions. The simplest case I've encountered was when the trunk load exceeded limits, triggering system protection. It's recommended to first try a forced reset by holding the handbrake button for ten seconds. If that doesn't work, read the fault codes. During repairs, focus on checking the actuator and wiring harness connectors - this can save a lot of money compared to directly replacing the module.

Electronic parking brake malfunctions are mostly related to wiring issues. I've personally dealt with three scenarios: water ingress causing short circuits in wheel sensor connectors, oxidized poor-contact connections in the trunk's left-side control box, and one instance where rodents chewed through the chassis wiring harness. Each system error was accompanied by automatic parking failure and dashboard warning lights. During repairs, don't rush to disassemble components - first use a diagnostic tool to confirm the exact location through fault codes. For routine maintenance, keep the chassis dry, especially after rain by frequently using the heater for dehumidification, which can effectively prevent wiring problems.
