What are the reasons for the Baojun 560's air conditioner not responding when turned on?

Baojun 560's air conditioner not responding when turned on can be due to the following reasons: Insufficient or low refrigerant: It is very likely caused by minor refrigerant leakage. Adding refrigerant can solve the problem, but it is important to note that if adding from the low-pressure side, the refrigerant bottle must not be inverted; if adding from the high-pressure side, the engine must not be started. Dirty condenser: Simply cleaning the condenser can resolve the issue. When cleaning, be sure to first use an air gun to blow it clean, then use a water gun to wash it. Doing otherwise may have the opposite effect, not only making the air conditioner less cool but also increasing fuel consumption. Unqualified refrigerant and refrigeration oil: Choose qualified refrigerant for repairs. Qualified refrigerant plays a crucial role in the car's air conditioning system. Moisture infiltration in the refrigeration system: Replace the desiccant or dryer in the car's air conditioning system. At the same time, re-evacuate the system and inject a new, appropriate amount of refrigerant.
I've driven a Baojun 560 for over a decade and dealt with unresponsive AC several times. The most common issue is blown fuses, especially that dedicated 15A blue mini-fuse for AC - just pull it out from the left-side fuse box in the engine bay to check if it's melted. Another frequent culprit is poor contact in the AC relay (located below the steering wheel) - sometimes tapping it twice can restore function. A loose compressor belt might slip - pop the hood to inspect for cracks. Refrigerant leaks can also cause compressor failure - if AC pipes don't feel cold, it's likely a Freon leak. For broken control buttons, simply replace the entire switch assembly. These are all fixes I've done myself with just screwdrivers and a multimeter. Only when all else fails would I visit a repair shop.
