The reasons for insufficient oil supply to the cylinder head of the Xinchai 490 engine may include a clogged oil filter or insufficient oil pump pressure. Clogged oil filter: The function of the filter is to help remove impurities. Automobile filters generally include four types: air, oil, fuel, and cabin air filters, each serving a different purpose. The fuel filter primarily removes impurities from gasoline to ensure the engine operates normally. Once the fuel filter becomes dirty or clogged, issues such as slow acceleration when starting the car or even failure to start may occur. If the air filter is too dirty, it increases intake resistance, preventing normal airflow in the vehicle, which can affect engine performance. Insufficient oil pump pressure: The most direct indication of insufficient oil pump pressure is the illumination of the oil pressure warning light on the dashboard, accompanied by symptoms such as insufficient driving power, poor acceleration, and a tendency for the engine to stall. The working principle of the oil pump: gear-type oil pumps are characterized by their reliability, simple structure, ease of manufacturing, and high oil pressure, making them widely adopted. When the engine is running, the drive gear on the camshaft drives the transmission gear of the oil pump, causing the drive gear fixed on the drive shaft to rotate, which in turn drives the driven gear to rotate in the opposite direction, moving the oil from the intake chamber through the gear gaps and pump walls to the outlet chamber. This creates a low-pressure area in the intake chamber, generating suction that draws oil from the oil pan into the chamber. As the drive and driven gears continue to rotate, oil is continuously pumped to the required parts.
