The reasons for difficult starting of a single-cylinder diesel engine are as follows: 1. Fuel system failure: The fuel filter is clogged, remove and clean it. The injector is clogged with carbon deposits, remove and clean it. 2. Air in the fuel line: Air in the fuel line can occur in two situations: running out of fuel and just after refueling. The former causes intermittent vibration and unusual engine sounds due to lack of fuel, while the latter prevents starting. After refueling, loosen the nut connecting the fuel line to the fuel pump, bleed the air, and then tighten it. 3. Excessive valve clearance: Excessive valve clearance also prevents starting, manifested as reduced engine power, emitting large amounts of black smoke when accelerating, and even stalling. 4. Temperature reasons: In cold weather, diesel viscosity increases. You can add hot water to the radiator or change the diesel type; refer to the manual for more details.
