For ordinary vehicles outside highways, the penalties and demerit points for speeding are as follows: No penalty: Speeding within 10% above the speed limit is temporarily not penalized. Penalty: Speeding 10% to 20% above the speed limit results in a fine and 3 demerit points; speeding 20% to 30% above the speed limit results in a fine and 6 demerit points; speeding 30% to 50% above the speed limit results in a fine and 6 demerit points; speeding 50% to 70% above the speed limit results in a fine, 12 demerit points, and may also lead to license suspension; speeding 70% or more above the speed limit results in a fine, 12 demerit points, and may also lead to license suspension.
