According to the Road Traffic Safety Law, motor vehicles driving on the road without using lights as required will be penalized with 1 demerit point, and the penalty is usually imposed on the spot rather than being recorded through photographs. Motor vehicle drivers committing any of the following violations will receive 1 demerit point: Driving a motor vehicle without using lights as required; Driving a motor vehicle without yielding properly when meeting another vehicle; Driving a motor vehicle with cargo exceeding the prescribed length, width, or height; Driving a motor vehicle on the road without displaying the inspection qualification mark or insurance mark, or without carrying the vehicle license or driver's license.
