Forced overtaking is an illegal act and bears full criminal liability according to law. Penalties may include detention, fines, revocation of the motor vehicle driving license, or demerit points. When vehicles are moving in the same lane, the following vehicle should maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead to allow for emergency braking measures. Overtaking is prohibited under the following circumstances: 1. The vehicle ahead is making a left turn, turning around, or overtaking; 2. There is a possibility of meeting an oncoming vehicle; 3. The vehicle ahead is a police car, fire truck, ambulance, or engineering rescue vehicle performing emergency tasks; 4. Passing through areas where overtaking is not allowed, such as railway crossings, intersections, narrow bridges, curves, steep slopes, tunnels, pedestrian crossings, and sections of urban roads with heavy traffic.
