As a long-time driver, I've seen too many people take shortcuts by driving scrapped vehicles on the road, only to end up in big trouble. In China, if you're caught driving a scrapped car, the minimum fine starts at 500 yuan, and can go up to 2000 yuan. You may also get 12 penalty points, have your vehicle impounded, or even have your license revoked. That's not the worst part: insurance is invalid for scrapped vehicles, meaning if an accident occurs, you'll have to pay full compensation yourself, resulting in significant losses. I know a friend who insisted on driving an old car and ended up being fined 1800 yuan, having his license suspended, and losing his car. Regular annual vehicle inspections are crucial—if the car's condition is found to be unfit, it should be properly scrapped immediately. Sometimes, the government offers subsidies for trading in old cars for new ones, which is both safer and more convenient. Never try to save a little money at the expense of safety.

Honestly, for young people, driving a scrapped car might sound cool and money-saving, but it's actually a trap. The penalties are: if caught by the police, you'll be fined between 500 to 2000 yuan, with 6 to 12 demerit points, and the car will be impounded on the spot. My buddy took a scrapped sedan for a spin last week—not only was the car towed away, but he also had to pay a 1500-yuan fine and a bunch of other penalties. The real danger is more critical: scrapped cars have unstable brakes or engine failures, risking accidents that could harm you in an instant. It's recommended to use an app to check the vehicle management records to confirm if it's scrapped. If the car is old, replace it in time—new cars are more stylish and cost-effective. Don't let laziness get you into trouble.

Having driven all my life, simply put, driving a scrapped car means waiting for fines: starting from over 500 yuan, severe points deduction up to all 12 points, and the car being confiscated by the police. Safety issues are numerous, as old cars are prone to malfunctions and accidents. Don't take this risk; regularly check your car's condition and scrap it early to avoid unnecessary expenses.

Are There Consequences for Selling Driver's License Points?

The consequences of selling driver's license points: 1. Both buying and selling points can lead to the leakage of personal information. If a driver seeks to buy points from a 'point broker,' they must provide their vehicle information. During this process, the broker may resell this information to criminals. The buyer may not only face phone harassment but also risk having their information used to forge license plates for other vehicles, leading to illegal activities such as vehicle cloning. For the seller, handing over their license to a broker for point deduction directly exposes their personal information. 2. Moreover, buying and selling points is illegal. Traffic police authorities state that if caught, both the broker, intermediary, buyer, and seller of points violate Article 52 of the Public Security Management Law, facing detention of 10 to 15 days and fines up to 1,000 yuan. For minor cases, the penalty is 5 to 10 days of detention and fines up to 500 yuan. Even helping friends or acquaintances without monetary exchange is illegal and punishable. 3. The traffic police also emphasize that beyond specific penalties, if the buyer commits other illegal acts alongside traffic violations, the seller may bear corresponding legal liabilities.

Can Electronic Eyes Not Capture Running a Red Light When Turning Left?

Running a red light is an illegal act, and it will definitely be captured if committed. When a motor vehicle turns left, it is not that running a red light is not captured, but rather that the conditions for running a red light are not met. The perspective of the driver of the vehicle differs from that of others observing the vehicle. The path of the vehicle in front as seen by the vehicle behind may also differ; the vehicle behind may think the vehicle in front is running a red light, while in reality, the vehicle in front is passing through normally. Under special circumstances, when making a U-turn while turning left, there is no need to observe the traffic light, and it will not be captured as a violation. When encountering a double yellow line (one solid and one dashed) at the center of the road without any signs prohibiting left turns or U-turns, vehicles on the dashed line side can make a left turn or U-turn without regard to the traffic light, provided it is safe and does not obstruct traffic. Running a red light is a serious and egregious traffic violation. If captured, it results in an immediate deduction of 6 points and a fine. Additionally, if a traffic accident is caused by running a red light, the party who ran the red light will bear full responsibility for the accident. If a traffic violation is captured, the penalty can be appealed by bringing relevant documents (such as a driver's license, vehicle registration, etc.) to the local traffic police department to review the footage and apply for administrative reconsideration to revoke the penalty. Specific legal provisions: According to the "Regulations on the Application and Use of Motor Vehicle Driving Licenses," motor vehicle drivers committing any of the following violations will have 6 points deducted: driving a motor vehicle in violation of traffic signal lights. According to Article 90 of the "Road Traffic Safety Law," motor vehicle drivers who violate road traffic safety laws and regulations regarding road traffic rules will be given a warning or fined between 20 and 200 yuan. If there are other provisions in this law, penalties will be imposed in accordance with those provisions.

Do I need to replace my driver's license after the one-year probation period?

No replacement is required after the one-year probation period. The driver's license initially obtained upon passing the driving test is actually the formal driver's license, with the probation period merely noted as an additional remark on the supplementary page. After the probation period ends, it officially transitions into the regular period and does not affect normal usage. Time regulations: If the expiration is less than one year, the license can be renewed normally; if it's between one and three years, the license will be revoked, but it can be renewed by passing the subject one test; if it's more than three years, the license becomes invalid and cannot be renewed. Renewal deadline: Motor vehicle drivers should apply for license renewal at the vehicle management office of the issuing authority within 90 days before the expiration of their motor vehicle driver's license. When applying, they must fill out the 'Motor Vehicle Driver's License Application Form'. Renewal materials: Bring two copies of ID card, two recent 1-inch color passport photos without hats, original ID card, original driver's license, and a medical examination certificate from a county-level or above hospital (free physical examination is also available at the vehicle management office).
