On the basis of exempting non-operational mini-buses with 6 or fewer seats from inspection within 6 years, the scope of exemption has been further expanded to include non-operational mini-buses with 7-9 seats within 6 years. When a biennial regular inspection is required, the vehicle owner can directly apply to the traffic management department of the public security authority for the inspection label by providing the compulsory traffic accident liability insurance certificate and the tax payment or tax exemption certificate for vehicle and vessel tax, without the need to undergo safety technical inspection at an inspection institution. More relevant information is as follows: For non-operational mini-buses over 6 years but under 10 years old: The inspection cycle has been relaxed from once a year to once every two years, meaning private cars only need to undergo on-site inspection twice within 10 years, specifically in the 6th and 8th years. For private cars over 10 years old: The original inspection cycle still applies, i.e., once a year for cars aged 10-15 years, and once every six months for cars over 15 years old. After the implementation of this measure, more than 170 million private car owners nationwide will benefit from the convenience brought by the reform.

Hey, regarding the new 2021 vehicle inspection regulations, I think as a car enthusiast, these changes are super practical. The new rules simplify the inspection cycle for private cars—my car only needs two on-site inspections within ten years: the 6th and 10th years. Previously, we had to go through this hassle every two years, wasting half a day queuing each time. Now it’s much more worry-free—no need to constantly remember to visit the inspection station, so I can focus more on hitting the road for drives. Safety-wise, the inspection items have been optimized, focusing on key points like brakes and lights while cutting redundant checks. The digital reports are convenient too, with one-click queries on your phone, making the process efficient. Overall, the new rules cater to car owners’ needs, improving daily convenience—a real blessing for us car lovers.

As an ordinary car owner, the 2021 regulations have significantly reduced my burden. Previously, my private car required an inspection every two years after six years, costing hundreds of yuan each time and wasting hours in queues. The new regulation now mandates only two inspections within the first ten years—at the sixth and tenth years—saving both money and time, which I can now allocate to vehicle maintenance. The inspection process has also been optimized, with a stronger focus on practical environmental and safety requirements, avoiding unnecessary hassles. I experienced these benefits firsthand after changing my car last year, and it feels like a major policy improvement. I recommend keeping track of your vehicle’s age to better plan for inspections. In fact, this new regulation also encourages more eco-friendly driving habits, making car ownership more economical and practical, ultimately easing the driving experience.

From a technical perspective, the 2021 new vehicle inspection regulations have introduced significant improvements in testing items. Private cars now only require on-site inspections in their 6th and 10th years within the first decade, with enhanced focus on digitalized reports and safety items such as emission standards, while reducing redundant physical checks. I believe this reflects the growing emphasis on environmental awareness, such as strengthening compatibility analysis for new energy vehicles. The optimized process also integrates an online appointment system, making the entire inspection more efficient and scientific. Essentially, the new regulations aim to drive industry upgrades while reducing burdensome procedures for car owners.
