New regulations for vehicle annual inspections: Starting from November 20, 2020, non-operational small and mini passenger vehicles (excluding vans) with 7-9 seats within 6 years are included in the exemption scope; for non-operational small and mini passenger vehicles (excluding vans) over 6 years but under 10 years, the inspection cycle is relaxed from once a year to once every two years. This means private cars only need to undergo on-site inspections twice within 10 years, specifically in the 6th and 8th years. Contents of annual inspections: Check whether the engine, chassis, body, and auxiliary equipment are clean, complete, and effective, whether the paint is uniform and aesthetically pleasing, whether major assemblies have been replaced, and whether they match the initial inspection records; Test whether the vehicle's braking performance, steering control, lights, exhaust, and other safety features comply with the "Technical Conditions for Safe Operation of Motor Vehicles"; Check if the vehicle has been modified, altered, or transformed, and whether the driving license, license plate, and all vehicle file registrations match the actual condition of the vehicle, including any changes, and whether approval and change procedures have been completed; Inspect whether the license plate, driving license, and enlarged license plate characters printed on the vehicle are damaged, altered, or illegible, and whether they need replacement; For large vehicles, check whether the unit name or the name of the street, township, or town where the vehicle is located, along with the maximum seating capacity in the cab, is printed in Chinese imitation Song font on both sides of the door as required; For trucks, check whether the rear tailgate (including the trailer's rear tailgate) has the vehicle number printed at 2-3 times the normal size as required, and for individual or joint-venture vehicles, whether the word "individual" is printed on both sides of the door. The characters must be clear, and no unit codes or other patterns are allowed (special cases require approval from the vehicle management office).

I bought a new car a few years ago, and I heard that the new regulations for private vehicle annual inspections have saved a lot of hassle. Mainly, new cars can be exempted from on-site inspections within the first 6 years, but every 2 years, you need to apply for the inspection label on the Traffic Management 12123 APP. You just need to fill in the information online without having to go to the inspection station. After 6 years, you have to go for an on-site inspection once a year to check safety and emissions. This is much easier than before and saves a lot of time. I forgot to handle it when it was due recently, but fortunately, the APP reminded me to make up for it in time, otherwise, I would have been fined and penalized. When driving, you should always pay attention to the condition of the car, such as brake lights, so they don’t break, otherwise, you’ll have to redo the inspection if it fails.

What does 9.8l/100km mean in terms of fuel consumption?

9.8l/100km means the vehicle consumes 9.8 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers. Specific methods to reduce vehicle fuel consumption are introduced as follows: 1. Minimize vehicle weight: Keep the interior simple and avoid carrying unnecessary items. Every additional 1kg of load increases fuel consumption by 1%. 2. Avoid excessive modifications: Adding spoilers, protective covers, or rear wings can disrupt the original aerodynamic design, increasing wind resistance and consuming extra fuel. Modifying lighting systems increases electrical load, leading to unnecessary fuel consumption. 3. Develop good driving habits: Avoid sudden acceleration, driving at high speeds in low gears, prolonged idling, frequent lane changes or braking. Aim for smooth starts, consistent speed maintenance, and reduced braking.

Does Hot Weather Cause Tire Pressure to Rise?

As summer heat arrives and road temperatures increase, tire pressure can easily rise. Excessive tire pressure can accelerate tire wear and lead to blowouts. Hazards of excessive tire pressure: Reduced tire friction and adhesion, affecting braking performance; Causes steering wheel vibration and deviation, reducing driving comfort; Accelerates wear on the central tread pattern, shortening tire lifespan; Increases vehicle vibration, indirectly affecting the lifespan of other components; Overextends tire cords, reducing elasticity and increasing load during driving; Decreases puncture resistance, making tires more vulnerable to sharp objects like nails or glass, potentially causing blowouts. Hazards of insufficient tire pressure: Increases friction with the road surface, raising fuel consumption; Makes steering heavier and prone to deviation, compromising safety; Increases movement of tire parts, causing abnormal heat from excessive rolling; Weakens cord and rubber functions, leading to delamination or cord breakage and rim friction damage; Multiplies ground friction, rapidly increasing tire temperature and softening the tire, drastically reducing strength and risking blowouts at high speeds; Enlarges tire deformation, causing sidewall cracks and excessive heat from flexing, accelerating rubber aging, cord fatigue, and shoulder wear.

What measures should be taken when a car suddenly stalls?

When a car suddenly stalls, the measures to be taken are to steady the steering wheel, turn on the right turn signal, slowly pull over to the side of the road, and place a triangular warning sign 150 meters behind the car. Below is an introduction to engine stalling while driving: 1. Fuel supply system: The car may be out of fuel, or the fuel line may be clogged or ruptured, leading to insufficient fuel supply. The solution is to refuel. 2. Short circuit: A short circuit in the car or the driving equipment's wiring can cause a power outage. The solution is to repair the wiring of the driving equipment. 3. Improper operation: Automatic transmission engines generally do not stall, but if manual mode is used or a manual transmission car is driven, improper operation or poor coordination between the clutch and accelerator can easily cause the engine to stall. The solution is to operate properly.

What does the red circle on the car dashboard mean?

Different cars have different instrument panels. However, conventional car dashboards generally include a speedometer, tachometer, oil pressure gauge, water temperature gauge, fuel gauge, and charging gauge. Below are the relevant explanations: 1. The first red indicator: The first red indicator is used to display the oil pressure status inside the engine. 2. The second red indicator: The second red indicator is used to display the battery usage status. 3. The third red indicator: The third red indicator is used to display the status of the vehicle's handbrake. It is usually off, and when the handbrake is pulled up, this indicator light automatically turns on.

Can a 4AT Transmission Be Upgraded to a 6AT?

4AT transmission cannot be upgraded to 6AT unless the entire transmission is replaced. The transmission is a mechanism used to alter the speed and torque from the engine, capable of fixing or changing the gear ratio between the output and input shafts, also known as the gearbox. The transmission consists of a gear transmission mechanism and a control mechanism, with some vehicles also featuring a power output mechanism. Most transmission mechanisms use ordinary gear transmission, while some employ planetary gear transmission. Below is an introduction to IVT and CVT transmissions: 1. CVT Transmission: The CVT transmission can achieve continuously variable transmission over a wide range, enabling optimal matching between the drivetrain and engine conditions. By continuously adjusting the transmission speed to suit various vehicle speeds, the engine can operate under optimal conditions for extended periods, thereby improving combustion efficiency and fuel economy. 2. IVT Transmission: The IVT transmission is a type of continuously variable transmission capable of handling larger loads, known as the Infinitely Variable Transmission (IVT). This transmission was first developed and patented by the UK-based Torotrak company.

How early can I apply for a 10-year driver's license renewal from a 6-year one?

You can apply for a 10-year driver's license renewal 90 days in advance from a 6-year one. Below is relevant information about driver's license renewal periods: 1. Renewal to a long-term driver's license: If a motor vehicle driver has not accumulated 12 penalty points in any scoring cycle during the six-year validity period of their motor vehicle driver's license, they can renew it to a 10-year validity motor vehicle driver's license; if they have not accumulated 12 penalty points in any scoring cycle during the 10-year validity period of their motor vehicle driver's license, they can renew it to a long-term valid motor vehicle driver's license. 2. Renewal deadline: If a motor vehicle driver's license is not renewed for more than one year after its expiration date, the vehicle management office will revoke the motor vehicle driver's license. If the revoked motor vehicle driver's license has not exceeded two years, the driver can regain their driving qualification by passing the road traffic safety laws, regulations, and related knowledge examination.
