What are the manifestation types of car faults?

Deterioration in power performance and fuel economy, such as a significant decrease in maximum driving speed, high fuel consumption, and high engine oil consumption; poor ride comfort, with noticeably increased car vibration and noise; poor car handling stability, such as the car being prone to deviation, front-end wobble, brake side-slip, long braking distance, and excessive emissions. Abnormal sounds: faults during use often manifest in the form of abnormal noises. If the sound is relatively dull and accompanied by strong vibrations, the fault is more severe. For example, when the car is idling, a regular "tapping" sound is heard, and the sound becomes chaotic and irregular when accelerating, which is the knocking sound caused by excessive valve clearance; if the engine makes a "clanging" sound like hitting an anvil during normal operation, and the sound becomes increasingly severe, this is the sound of engine bearing wear due to lack of oil. Abnormal exhaust smoke: black smoke from the car's exhaust pipe generally indicates a rich mixture and incomplete combustion; blue smoke from the exhaust pipe usually indicates burning oil; white smoke from the exhaust pipe generally indicates water in the fuel, water in the cylinder, or excessively low outdoor temperature. Operational abnormalities: the car does not accelerate, steer, or brake as the driver intends, such as inflexible operation of the accelerator pedal, clutch pedal, brake pedal, steering wheel, or gear lever. Abnormal odors: the burnt smell from non-metallic materials of brake pads and clutch plates, the special odor of battery electrolyte, the burnt smell of electrical system wires, the burnt smell and gasoline odor from leaking oil dripping onto the exhaust pipe. Overheating and leakage: the temperature of various components exceeds the normal operating temperature range, such as the radiator "boiling over", and the transmission, brakes, and rear axle housing becoming too hot to touch; leakage faults include fuel, engine oil, coolant, brake fluid, electrolyte, refrigerant leaks, electrical system leakage, and air leaks from cylinder gaskets, intake (exhaust) manifold gaskets, vacuum tubes, etc.
