Here is an introduction to the functions of the Haval buttons: Shortcut keys: The shortcut keys located below the central control screen facilitate blind operation. Their functions include air volume adjustment/on-off, front/rear windshield defrosting, hazard warning lights, panoramic imaging, lane departure warning, lane change assist, and volume adjustment/on-off. Physical buttons: The central control screen is operated via physical buttons behind the gear lever. These buttons correspond to navigation, phone, menu, return, multimedia, radio, and selection/confirmation. The driving mode is switched via a lever behind the gear shift, offering three modes: standard, economy, and sport. Electric adjustment buttons: The knob on the side of the driver's seat supports multi-directional electric adjustments for lumbar support, seat cushion, and backrest angle. The buttons below the rearview mirror include functions such as anti-glare switch, manual seat adjustment, road assistance, and emergency rescue.

After driving a Haval for so many years, I can find all the buttons on the car with my eyes closed. The lever on the left side of the steering wheel controls the lights—turn it once for low beams and push it forward for high beams. The most interesting part is the central AC panel: the fan icon button adjusts the airflow, the snowflake symbol turns on the cooling, and the car-shaped icon switches between internal and external air circulation, which is especially useful on smoggy days. The knob on the right controls the temperature—I usually set it to 23°C in winter for maximum comfort. The four buttons on the door control the four power windows, and the mirror adjustment knob can fold the mirrors electrically. On the right side of the steering wheel are the media control buttons for switching tracks and adjusting volume—all right under my fingertips. The electronic parking brake button on the center console is effortless, and the nearby AUTOHOLD red light activates automatic parking at red lights. Pressing the ECO button near the gearshift saves a lot on fuel costs for city commuting.

During my first month with the Haval, I studied the button functions every day. The first button on the left of the AC panel is for front defogging, instantly clearing fog on rainy days; the middle SYNC button allows separate temperature settings for the driver and passenger. The right-side button area on the steering wheel has cruise control buttons—SET to adjust speed, RES to resume cruising. When shifting gears with my right hand, I found the panoramic camera button—just press it, and the reverse camera view pops up immediately. The most thoughtful feature is the heated rearview mirror button, preventing fogging during rain. Rear air vents can be adjusted using front buttons, so kids in the backseat won’t get direct airflow. The door armrest has a rear tailgate button—press it, and the trunk opens automatically. The stalk behind the steering wheel controls the wipers—push it up to spray washer fluid. Once familiar, these buttons become incredibly handy.

Haval's button design is quite user-friendly. The left stalk on the steering wheel integrates headlight controls, with a rotary knob to adjust dashboard brightness and avoid glare. The three knobs in the AC zone have clear functions: the left controls temperature (hot/cold), the middle adjusts fan speed, and the right selects airflow modes (face/feet). The front defroster and mirror heater buttons are placed side by side, solving two needs at once in rainy weather. The drive mode button near the gearshift allows one-touch switching to ECO fuel-saving mode. Next to the electronic parking brake is the hill descent control button, providing peace of mind on mountain roads by automatically controlling speed. The right-side multifunction steering wheel buttons manage volume and track switching, while the left buttons control the voice activation system. The overhead button panel includes an emergency call button—holding it for five seconds directly connects to rescue services.

Should I Add Coolant or Water to the Radiator?

You should add coolant to the radiator. The main function of coolant is to cool the engine, which can operate at temperatures above 100 degrees Celsius. If water is added instead, it will boil directly and fail to effectively cool the car, potentially leading to severe engine damage or even cylinder explosion. Additionally, during cold winter weather, adding water can cause the radiator to freeze, resulting in damage. Coolant, also known as antifreeze coolant, is designed to prevent freezing, ensuring that it doesn't solidify in cold temperatures and cause the radiator or engine block to crack. Antifreeze should be used year-round, and as part of regular vehicle maintenance, the engine coolant should be replaced annually.
