What are the functions of the air conditioning buttons in a car?

The air conditioning buttons in a car may have slight differences depending on the model. Common buttons include the on/off button, temperature increase/decrease button, auto button, and outside temperature button. The A/C button and OFF button are the on and off buttons respectively. Pressing the A/C or OFF button can turn the air conditioning system on or off. Turning off the air conditioning can also prevent outside air from entering, avoiding the intake of air polluted by exhaust fumes and dust. The temperature increase/decrease button adjusts the opening of the temperature damper, changing the mix ratio of cool and warm air to regulate the cabin temperature within a certain range to achieve higher or lower temperatures. When the auto button is activated, the air conditioning system disregards previous manual commands and adapts to various weather conditions. Once the selected temperature is reached in the cabin, the compressor operates at its lowest speed. If the temperature changes, the system automatically adjusts the compressor speed and the position of the temperature damper. Pressing this button and then any other selection switch (except the temperature adjustment switch) will switch to manual control. Pressing the outside temperature button will display the external temperature. While displaying the outside temperature, the indicator light next to the left side of this button remains lit and automatically returns to the previous display state after a few seconds.
