When I first drove the GAC GS4, I was also confused by all the buttons, but after two years of use, they became second nature. The left side of the steering wheel is mainly for cruise control—hitting the button with the speedometer icon to set cruising speed on the highway is a lifesaver. The right-side multifunction keys handle dashboard menu switching and volume. The row of diamond-shaped buttons below the infotainment screen is the most practical—the one with the seat symbol next to the hazard lights controls seat heating, and for defogging on rainy days, remember the fan-shaped button with arrows. The electronic parking brake and auto-hold near the gear lever are super thoughtful—no more holding the brake at red lights. The sunroof button is on the overhead panel, right next to the SOS emergency button, which I once pressed during a hydroplaning scare in heavy rain. Button layouts may vary by model year, but a little practice will get you familiar.

The most prominent feature on the center console is the 10.1-inch touchscreen, with practical physical buttons retained below: the fan-shaped symbol is for front window defogging, and the rectangular one is for rear window heating. The air conditioning control area is located below the screen, with a round knob for temperature adjustment and buttons for adjusting fan speed—the one with an 'A' in the middle indicates the automatic air conditioning mode. The lever on the left side of the steering wheel controls the headlights and turn signals, while the one on the right controls the wipers. Near the gear lever, there are several hidden treasure buttons: the HOLD button next to the electronic parking brake can automatically maintain braking, which is especially useful for hill starts. In front of the storage compartment, there's a driving mode selector knob—switching between ECO and SPORT modes changes the color of the instrument cluster. The sun visor also has a makeup light button inside, which women will surely appreciate.

The layout of function buttons on the GAC GS4's steering wheel is clear and intuitive. The left section features a voice activation button - just press it and speak your navigation destination directly. The volume controls are designed as a scroll wheel, allowing adjustment without distracting the driver. The functional area on the left side of the gear shift deserves attention: the electronic parking brake features flowing light effects when engaged, and the adjacent AUTOHOLD button illuminates red when automatic parking is active. The MODE button on the center console safely toggles between radio/USB music, much safer than poking at the touchscreen. The air vents above the passenger glovebox offer significantly more flexible adjustment compared to previous models. Notably, the overhead control panel includes a panoramic sunroof switch - holding it down makes the sunshade open slowly like a theater curtain.
