BYD DMI includes four modes: Pure Electric Economy Mode, Pure Electric Sport Mode, Hybrid Economy Mode, and Hybrid Sport Mode. Its working principle is based on the design of high-safety blade batteries and high-performance high-power motors, primarily relying on high-power efficient motors for driving. The main role of the gasoline engine is to generate electricity within the efficient speed range and directly drive the vehicle at appropriate times. By changing the traditional hybrid technology design that primarily relies on the engine, fuel consumption is significantly reduced. Pure Electric Economy Mode: The car does not use the engine and operates using the battery. Pure Electric Sport Mode: The car does not use the engine, and the controller supplies the motor with maximum current. Hybrid Economy Mode: When the speed is below 40km/h and the battery level is above 15%, the engine is not used. When the speed exceeds 40km/h, the engine automatically starts, providing only 10% of the power, while the controller gradually increases the motor's current to charge the battery. If the speed is below 40km/h and the battery level is below 15%, the engine will also start but does not provide power to the car, instead idling to charge the battery. Hybrid Sport Mode: The engine transmits 100% of its power to the wheels, and the motor also operates at maximum power.
