What are the engine faults of the X-Trail?

X-Trail engine faults include the exclamation mark fault. This phenomenon occurs in traditional gasoline vehicles. Apart from a dead small battery, any other fault causes could indicate significant issues. Fault causes: Generally, after ruling out hardware issues, this fault is mostly related to software and system calibration problems. The primary reason is that the system detects the battery temperature exceeding the preset safety threshold, or it identifies sporadic fault signals, leading to the system autonomously restricting some vehicle functions. At this point, the vehicle cannot start or charge, appearing completely dead. Solutions: Similar to fixing a frozen computer or a lagging phone, restarting can resolve most issues. A pure electric vehicle can essentially be considered a large electronic device, where all electronic systems and the main unit's power supply are managed by the small battery in the engine compartment.
I've been driving my X-Trail for several years and encountered a few minor engine issues. The most troublesome was the ignition system problem, such as spark plug wear causing cylinder misfires, leading to severe engine shaking at high speeds—I almost thought the transmission was failing. Later, upon inspection, I realized the X-Trail's engine has high fuel quality requirements; using lower-grade fuel can easily lead to carbon buildup and clogged fuel lines. Additionally, coolant leaks are a common issue. Once, the engine temperature warning light came on during a hot day, but fortunately, I stopped in time to check. These problems aren't too difficult to handle; regular spark plug replacements and throttle body cleanings can prevent them. Overall, the X-Trail is quite durable as long as you stick to regular maintenance.
