The effects of adding too much engine oil to a car are: 1. Increased internal resistance in the engine. When the cylinder block is overly saturated with oil, it creates unnecessary resistance to the crankshaft's rotation, affecting power output; 2. The engine is prone to carbon buildup. Excessive oil splashing on the cylinder walls increases the workload of the piston rings, and the un-scraped oil can enter the combustion chamber, leading to carbon deposits; 3. Damage to the catalytic converter. Since an excessive amount of oil participates in combustion, the resulting carbon particles not only form deposits in the combustion chamber, valve seats, and around the spark plug electrodes but are also partially expelled with the exhaust, causing blue smoke.
