What are the effects of a faulty camshaft position sensor?
1 Answers
Damaged camshaft position sensor has the following impacts: 1. Ignition failure: The camshaft position sensor determines the ignition sequence. If damaged, it can cause ignition failure and difficulty in starting the engine. 2. Engine weakness: After the camshaft position sensor is damaged, the ECU cannot detect the position changes of the camshaft, affecting the intake and exhaust system's air volume, thereby reducing engine performance. 3. Increased fuel consumption: A damaged camshaft position sensor leads to disorderly fuel injection by the computer, resulting in higher fuel consumption, reduced vehicle power, and inability to reach desired RPM.
