Beijing motorcycles with Jing B license plates are not allowed to enter roads within the Fourth Ring Road. Below are the relevant details: 1. Fourth Ring Road auxiliary roads: The auxiliary roads of the Fourth Ring Road (both inner and outer ring directions) are not within the restricted area, meaning motorcycles can drive on these auxiliary roads. Note that during the APEC conference from November 3 to November 12, 2014, motorcycles with Jing B license plates were prohibited from driving within the Fifth Ring Road (including the Fifth Ring Road) and the main urban area of Huairou. 2. Non-local license plate motorcycles: These are prohibited from driving within the Sixth Ring Road at all times. However, the main roads of the Sixth Ring Road (both inner and outer ring directions) are not within the restricted area, meaning motorcycles can drive on these main roads. This regulation was newly implemented in Beijing on April 11, 2014.

I usually ride my Jing B motorcycle to work, but this license plate only allows me to ride outside the Fourth Ring Road. I can't enter the Fourth Ring Road at all. Last time, I accidentally rode to the Xueyuan Road area and was immediately stopped by the traffic police, fined 100 yuan, and had points deducted. Now I've learned my lesson and always use navigation to avoid restricted areas. Places like Chang'an Avenue and the Second Ring Road main road are completely off-limits to motorcycles all day, and even the Fourth Ring Road auxiliary roads are no-go. That said, the Jing B plate is very convenient outside the Fifth Ring Road, making weekend trips to Tanzhe Temple or Huairou Reservoir easy. If I need to go downtown for errands, I just switch to public transport to be safe.

Is a 6-month-old inventory car a big deal?

For a 6-month-old inventory car, it depends on the condition. If the car is in good condition, it can still be acceptable. Generally, a 6-month-old inventory car will be 5%-10% cheaper than a brand-new car. The differences between an inventory car and a brand-new car: 1. After leaving the factory, various fluids, electronic components, batteries, rubber seals, and tires in a new car may deteriorate due to prolonged storage without periodic inspection and maintenance, leading to issues like moisture damage and aging. 2. Only a very few dealerships perform periodic inspection and maintenance, as the cost is not high but requires labor and time. Some 4S stores even park their inventory cars outdoors, exposing them to direct sunlight, wind, and rain. 3. For inventory cars stored for too long, without proper warehousing management, the aging of electronic components and rubber products is often undetectable without professional testing equipment. Additionally, many inventory cars may suffer from insufficient oil or battery charge.

What does the M in manual transmission mean?

M stands for Manual, indicating the manual shifting mode. Here are some tips for using the M gear in a manual-automatic transmission: 1. Downshifting for overtaking: When overtaking in D gear, the speed won't increase rapidly even if you press the accelerator hard, as the car will only shift up sequentially. However, switching to M gear makes a big difference. Pressing the accelerator in this mode allows the car to utilize the high torque of lower gears for instant acceleration, making overtaking quicker. 2. Descending a slope: When going down a long slope in automatic mode, the speed will uncontrollably increase, requiring timely braking. But if you switch to manual mode and shift down to a lower gear, you can effectively use engine braking to control the speed. Upon reaching the bottom, you can quickly shift up or switch back to automatic mode to resume normal driving. 3. Ascending a slope: When climbing a steep slope, you might get stuck in stop-and-go traffic. In such cases, it's better to use the manual mode of the manual-automatic transmission, limiting the gear to 1st to handle frequent hill starts. This also protects the transmission. 4. Highway driving: It's best to use manual mode on highways, as it not only allows for faster acceleration but also enables the use of engine braking during sudden stops. If you need to brake while driving at high speed, press the brake pedal while quickly shifting down to a lower gear, which creates strong engine braking and speeds up deceleration.

What are the dimensions for reverse parking in driving school?

The standard dimensions for the reverse parking garage are as follows: The garage length is 5.25 meters, and the width is 2.3 meters. The total road length is 15.9 meters, with a single side length of 6.8 meters and a width of 5.8 meters. Small car parking space: length should be greater than or equal to 5 meters, width between 2.2-2.5 meters. Large car parking space: length between 7-10 meters, width 4 meters, depending on the vehicle model. Reverse parking evaluation criteria: failing to follow the designated route or sequence results in disqualification; vehicle body crossing the line results in disqualification; failing to enter the garage results in disqualification; stopping midway results in disqualification; exceeding 4 minutes results in disqualification. Reverse parking rhyme: Reversing in and out is not hard, fasten seatbelt, shift gear, left signal flash. Press clutch, release handbrake, slowly lift clutch to start gently. Watch right line to adjust car body, left mirror vertical gap follows right line. Stop when front line aligns with shoulder, shift to reverse gear, release clutch. Left mirror covers horizontal line corner, turn right fully. Watch left mirror for garage line, at 30-degree angle turn back one round, when car aligns with line, straighten direction fully two rounds. Left mirror covers garage front corner, press clutch and brake. Shift to first gear to exit, when car front touches line, turn left fully. Stop when car front covers line, keep direction unchanged to reverse. Watch right mirror for garage line, at 30-degree angle turn back one round, when car aligns with line, straighten direction fully two rounds, left mirror covers garage front corner, press clutch and brake. Shift to first gear to exit, when car front touches line, turn right fully. Stop when car front covers line, adjust car body skillfully. The new garage has no poles to watch, only ground markings, the garage length is much shorter than before, just enough for a car to park completely. The process is to reverse from the right, then drive out and turn left, then reverse back in, finally drive out back to the starting point. This process is very simple, without the current exam step of moving the car within the garage.

Manual Transmission Car Not Moving When in Gear?

If a manual transmission car is not moving when in gear, it may be due to unclear clutch disc separation, or damage to the clutch disc and clutch pressure plate. Here is some extended information about shifting gears: 1. Method: Start in first gear, then shift to second gear after moving a few meters; shift to third gear when the speed reaches above 20 mph but below 35 mph; shift to fourth gear when the speed reaches above 35 mph but below 45 mph; and shift to fifth gear when the speed exceeds 45 mph. This applies to standard five-speed transmission cars. For cars with six or more gears, you can shift up approximately every 15 mph increase in speed. Additionally, pay attention to the engine RPM during shifting—it's best to shift around 2500 RPM. 2. Coordination during shifting: The clutch and throttle must be well-coordinated. Press the clutch pedal fully, then release the throttle pedal, and quickly shift to the desired gear. After shifting, release your hand immediately—do not keep it on the gear lever (commonly known as the gear shifter) for too long, as this can damage the lever. 3. Master the correct shifting hand position: Many drivers often neglect the proper hand position for shifting, sometimes casually using two or three fingers to move the gear lever. This is neither standardized nor safe. The correct hand position is to cover the head of the gear lever with your palm facing downward, grip the lever firmly with all five fingers, and then shift. 4. Shift fully into gear: Sometimes, after driving for a long time, shifting becomes careless, and the gear may not be fully engaged before releasing the clutch, which can severely damage the transmission. Therefore, always ensure the gear is fully engaged when shifting, and always press the clutch pedal fully. To engage first gear, push the lever to the left and then forward; for second gear, push it to the left and then downward; for third gear, push it straight upward from the neutral position; for fourth gear, push it straight downward from the neutral position; and for fifth gear, push it straight to the right and then upward.

Does the driving school time start counting after passing the Subject 1 test?

According to the "Regulations on the Application and Use of Motor Vehicle Driving Licenses", the driving school time starts counting after passing the Subject 1 test. The validity period of the learning driving certificate is three years, but the expiration date must not exceed the upper age limit for application. Applicants must complete the Subject 2 and Subject 3 tests within the validity period. If the tests are not completed within the validity period, the passing scores of the already completed subjects will be invalidated. Subject 1, also known as the Subject 1 theory test or driver theory test, is part of the motor vehicle driving license assessment. The test content includes driving theory basics, road safety laws and regulations, local regulations, and related knowledge. The test is conducted on a computer with a time limit of 45 minutes. Subject 1 consists of 100 questions, including single-choice and true/false questions, with each question worth 1 point. If 11 questions are answered incorrectly, the system will automatically submit the test and end the exam. Subject 1 test content: Driving license and motor vehicle management regulations; road traffic conditions and regulations; road traffic safety violations and penalties; road traffic accident handling regulations; basic knowledge of motor vehicles; local regulations; knowledge of braking systems and safety devices for large and medium-sized passenger and freight vehicles; specialized knowledge for wheeled self-propelled machinery, trams, and trolleybuses. Subject 1 test precautions: During the Subject 1 test, students should pay attention to their attire—no slippers are allowed, and electronic devices and bags are prohibited in the examination room. Bring your ID card and queue to enter the waiting hall. Observe the precautions and procedures on the large screen, and store personal items in a locker before entering the examination room. Upon entering, verify your identity at the assigned seat and begin the test. Ensure the camera is aligned with you and follow exam discipline. If you fail the first attempt, a retake is available on the same day. If you fail again, you must pay to reschedule. After the test, queue to collect your score sheet and sign it. Failure to sign will render the result invalid. There is no limit to the number of times you can schedule the Subject 1 test. Each subject can be taken once, and if you fail, you can retake it once. If you do not take the retake or fail the retake, the test is terminated, and you must reschedule. For Subject 2 and Subject 3, there are only five test attempts, and the tests must be scheduled at least ten days apart. If you fail the Subject 3 safety and civilized driving knowledge test, the passing score for the road driving skills test remains valid. The driving test consists of three subjects: Subject 1, Subject 2, and Subject 3. Subject 1 refers to the road traffic safety laws, regulations, and related knowledge test; Subject 2 refers to the field driving skills test; Subject 3 is divided into two parts: road driving skills and safety and civilized driving knowledge tests. The safety and civilized driving knowledge test is conducted after Subject 3, so it is commonly referred to as Subject 4. However, the official term (as per the Ministry of Public Security Order No. 123) does not include Subject 4.
