The Roewe RX5 trunk has a height of 770mm, maximum depth of 1740mm, external width of 1050mm, and internal width of 1290mm. Below is some knowledge about the trunk. Trunk structure: The basic structure consists of two core shaft drive rods. The drive rods are composed of a main shaft drive with an inner tube and an outer tube. The motor and gears inside the inner tube drive a threaded main shaft, which moves along a threaded nut fixed to the inner side of the outer tube. Electric struts use an electric main shaft located inside the motor within the strut to open and close the trunk lid, with springs also assisting in the lid opening operation. Trunk function: Drivers and passengers can open and close the tailgate by pressing the tailgate switch, using the remote car key, or by sensing with a hand or any object in the corresponding area of the tailgate. This allows for easy and quick storage of items in the vehicle when hands are full and opening the door is inconvenient.

I measured the trunk of the Roewe RX5, and its standard volume is 507 liters. It can easily accommodate four 20-inch suitcases. The rear seats can be folded completely flat, extending the depth to nearly 1.8 meters—when helping a friend move, it fit two IKEA PAX wardrobes with room to spare. The height is about 92 cm, making it easy to fit my Golden Retriever’s airline crate vertically. The floor is quite flat, though the wheel arches on the sides take up a bit of space, leaving an actual width of around 1 meter. The trunk opening is quite large; last time, I loaded a packaged 55-inch TV without any issues.

As an e-commerce seller who frequently transports samples, the Roewe RX5's trunk has a daily depth of 97 cm and a width ranging between 100-120 cm. The most practical feature is the one-touch rear seat folding function, which expands the cargo volume directly to 1518 liters. Last time, I managed to fit 10 cases of red wine plus three foldable display racks. The loading sill height is about 65 cm from the ground, making it less strenuous to load heavy items. The spare tire is stored beneath the trunk floor panel, and the tool compartment is cleverly designed - I usually secure fragile items there.

The actual measurement shows a regular trunk depth of 97cm and an internal width of 110cm. The rear seats support a 40/60 split-folding function, and when fully folded down, it creates a depth of 1.78 meters—perfect for turning it into a bed during road trips, as I did last time. The bottom panel features two-height adjustments, and when lowered, it can accommodate a 28-inch suitcase. There are independent storage mesh pockets on both sides to prevent items like fire extinguishers or cleaning agents from rolling around. A heads-up: the full-size spare tire version reduces the height by 5cm, so opting for a non-full-size spare tire is more practical.

What Causes Increased Car Fuel Consumption?

Car fuel consumption increases due to the following reasons: 1. Issues with spark plugs or high-voltage wires: As the vehicle ages, abnormalities in the ignition circuit can lead to higher fuel consumption; 2. Poor fuel flow: Prolonged use can cause carbon buildup, obstructing the fuel system. Timely cleaning of the fuel injectors and throttle body is necessary to reduce fuel consumption; 3. Tire wear: The extent of tire wear also affects fuel efficiency. Severely worn tires may cause slipping, requiring the engine to output more power and thus increasing fuel consumption.

What does car wheelbase mean?

Car wheelbase refers to the distance between the two vertical lines passing through the midpoints of adjacent wheels on the same side of the vehicle and perpendicular to the longitudinal symmetry plane of the vehicle. Simply put, it is the distance from the center of the front axle to the center of the rear axle. The length of the wheelbase significantly affects the comfort and handling stability of a car. A longer wheelbase improves straight-line cruising stability but reduces steering flexibility, increases the turning radius, and results in poorer maneuverability. Therefore, a balance must be struck between stability and flexibility to find an appropriate equilibrium. Both excessively short and excessively long wheelbases can impact the overall performance of the vehicle. A shorter wheelbase means a shorter car length, lighter weight, smaller minimum turning radius, and smaller longitudinal passing radius, which enhances the car's maneuverability. However, if the wheelbase is too short, the cabin length may be insufficient, and the rear overhang may become too long, leading to increased longitudinal sway during driving, significant weight transfer during braking, acceleration, or uphill driving, and worsened handling and stability. Conversely, if the wheelbase is too long, the car body length increases, and the rear blind spot when reversing becomes larger.

What are the symptoms of engine cylinder scoring?

Engine cylinder scoring manifests as a significant decrease in air tightness, increased fuel consumption with reduced power, and difficulty starting after stalling. Below is relevant information about engine cylinder scoring: Causes of engine cylinder scoring: Oil issues: Engine oil is the lifeblood of a car. All components in the vehicle require proper lubrication to operate smoothly. The engine oil ensures normal engine operation. If the vehicle isn't maintained on time and the oil isn't changed promptly, friction between engine components will gradually increase. While driving, the piston continuously moves within the cylinder. When the oil loses its effectiveness, the piston will naturally wear down the cylinder wall. Prolonged high-speed operation: The slower the engine piston moves within the cylinder, the less friction it generates. However, during extended high-RPM operation, the engine temperature rises continuously, causing the cooling system to fail. The piston expands due to heat, leading to cylinder scoring. Consequences of engine cylinder scoring: The vehicle's power will noticeably decrease, with some cylinders potentially becoming inoperable. Additionally, oil burning may occur. Repairing cylinder scoring is extremely costly, often requiring replacement or precision machining of piston rings, pistons, and cylinders. Some vehicles have cylinder liners to avoid excessive repair costs from scoring - if damaged, only the liner needs replacement. However, most passenger cars don't have cylinder liners, making repairs extremely complicated and expensive, essentially equivalent to replacing half of the engine.

How to Repair Yellowed Headlight Covers?

Methods to repair yellowed headlight covers: 1. Use a soft cloth to wipe off the dust on the headlights to prevent accumulation over time. It is essential to use a soft cloth to avoid scratching the car's paint or the headlight covers, which would not be worth it; 2. Clean with alkaline water. Soapy water is a weakly alkaline substance, non-corrosive, gentle in nature, and highly effective for cleaning. Avoid parking the car under direct sunlight for extended periods, as prolonged exposure to the sun can accelerate the yellowing and aging of the headlights. Additionally, refrain from using sharp objects to scratch the headlights, as this can also cause them to yellow and leave marks.

What do the D, S, L, and R gears of an automatic transmission car mean?

Automatic transmission car D, S, L, and R gears mean: D gear is the forward gear; S gear is the sport mode; L gear is the low-speed gear; R gear is the reverse gear. The automatic transmission means that the driver does not need to manually shift gears, and the vehicle will automatically select the appropriate gear according to the driving speed and traffic conditions. Generally, there are six gear positions on an automatic transmission car, from top to bottom: P, R, N, D, S, L. For an automatic transmission car, using only the parking gear P, reverse gear R, neutral gear N, and forward gear D can fully meet the needs of general driving. If encountering some special driving environments, other functional gears need to be used.
