The differences between Yaris and Zhi Xuan are: 1. Different transmissions: Yaris has an 8-speed continuously variable transmission; Zhi Xuan has a 5-speed manual transmission. 2. Different power: Yaris has a maximum horsepower of 86ps, maximum power of 63kw, and maximum torque of 121nm; Zhi Xuan has a maximum horsepower of 112ps, maximum power of 82kw, and maximum torque of 139nm. 3. Different body dimensions: Yaris has a length, width, and height of 3915mm, 1695mm, and 1545mm respectively; Zhi Xuan has a length, width, and height of 4160mm, 1700mm, and 1495mm respectively.

I've driven both the Yaris and the Vios, and my personal feeling is that the Yaris is really compact. It's super easy to turn and park in city traffic jams. The trunk can barely fit a backpack, and the rear seats are cramped, making it suitable for singles or young couples. The Vios is a size larger overall, with a length exceeding 4.4 meters. The rear seats can comfortably accommodate three adults or a baby seat, and the trunk has no problem fitting a large suitcase. It feels more stable at high speeds and less floaty. Both cars use a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine, but the Vios has slightly higher horsepower and accelerates faster. The Yaris is slower off the mark but is quiet and fuel-efficient enough for city commuting. In terms of price, the Yaris starts at around 80,000 RMB, which is more affordable, while the Vios starts at 100,000 RMB. Whether spending an extra 20,000 RMB for more space is worth it depends on your needs. Both models are reliable with few issues over time, but the Vios has a more stylish dashboard design with a bit of a tech feel.

I test drove these two cars last year. The Yaris's round and cute exterior looks adorable, with vibrant color options that are full of personality, and driving it feels like handling a small toy—easy and fun. The Vios, on the other hand, has more angular and bold lines, with a sportier and handsomer front grille design, plus softer and more supportive seats. Taking it out for dates or picking up friends always earns compliments for its impressive style. The space difference is significant: the Yaris has a tighter backseat where legs can easily bump, making long trips tiring, while the Vios offers more legroom due to its extended dimensions, and the trunk can easily fit several boxes of New Year goods or a pet carrier. In terms of power, the Yaris is gentle and suitable for beginners, whereas the Vios has slightly stronger horsepower, making overtaking easier. Both are fuel-efficient, averaging around 15 kilometers per liter in city driving, though the Vios has better sound insulation, reducing highway noise for a more comfortable ride.

When taking the family out, the Yaris's rear seats are too cramped for child seats, and the trunk is full with just a stroller. Safety-wise, the basic airbags are adequate but not comprehensive. The Vios is noticeably more spacious, with rear seats that can accommodate two child seats without compromising adult comfort, and a trunk large enough for baby supplies plus travel bags. Its safety features include additional side airbags and electronic aids, making long highway drives more reassuring. The Yaris is agile for navigating city alleys but feels unstable at high speeds. The Vios's optimized suspension system reduces bumps, ensuring a smoother ride for passengers. Fuel costs are similar at around 0.5-0.6 RMB per kilometer. The Vios has a higher starting price but offers upgraded space and safety, better suited for family needs.

Considering the budget, the Yaris is affordable starting at 80,000 yuan. Its compact size makes hassle-free, costing just a few hundred yuan, and urban fuel expenses are manageable at 400-500 yuan per month. The Vios is over 20,000 yuan more expensive but offers more space, accommodating an extra passenger in the rear and providing greater cargo convenience. Long-term fuel costs are similar, with lower maintenance expenses and higher resale value, allowing some cost recovery when selling second-hand. Both are fuel-efficient and durable. The Yaris is ideal for first-time car buyers or budget-conscious young people, while the upgraded Vios features better interior finishes, Bluetooth, and a touchscreen with tech elements. For frequent commuting, the Yaris is economical and practical; for long-distance travel, the Vios justifies the price difference with its comfort. Overall, the cost-effectiveness depends on balancing usage needs.

From a technical perspective, the Yaris with its 1.3L engine producing 102 horsepower offers gentle and quiet acceleration in urban areas, featuring a compact chassis with agile handling but tends to drift at high speeds. The Vios, equipped with a 1.5L engine delivering 107 horsepower, provides stronger initial acceleration, smoother automatic transmission with quick shifts, minimal vibration, and much better stability at high speeds. In terms of dimensions, the Yaris is four meters long with a shorter wheelbase, resulting in cramped rear seating and average noise insulation. The Vios, at 4.4 meters long with a longer wheelbase, offers improved space, softer suspension tuning for enhanced passenger comfort, and additional safety features like more airbags and anti-skid control for better protection. Both models have similar fuel consumption, around 6L per 100km in city driving, and their engines are durable enough to last at least a decade without issues.
